Personal Ministries
The coordinating work behind the church’s outreach: training ordinary members to share their faith, and organising the ministries that put them in front of the community.
What Personal Ministries is
Personal Ministries is the department that holds the church’s outreach together. Where Community Services meets physical need and evangelism runs public meetings, Personal Ministries is the work of equipping members to do either — planning, training, recruiting, and keeping the outreach ministries moving in the same direction.
The division breaks the role into four areas: planning, education and communication, recruiting and training volunteers, and ministry management. It is unglamorous and it is the difference between a church that talks about outreach and a church that does it.
At Edmonton Central this includes Bible study mentorship, small-group support and training events. Pastor Jeff Potts led personal ministries training here in May 2026.

Common questions
I would not know what to say.
That is precisely who the training is for. Nobody is sent out unprepared, and nobody is asked to use a script that does not sound like them.
Can I give a Bible study?
Yes, with support. Speak to Antonio Guzman and you will be paired with someone experienced before you lead one alone.
Is this door-knocking?
Sometimes, as during the Central Hope Food Drive. Much of it is not. Most outreach here happens through relationships people already have.
How do I start?
Contact the church office on 780-420-0215 and ask about Personal Ministries training.
